Standard new-player bonus: 50,000 aUEC. Any valid STAR-XXXX-XXXX code grants the same amount.

Live build: Alpha 4.10.2 (October 9, 2026), RSI Discovery Month. The new Constellation Mk V Centaurus and its Skylark snub are a five-day rental from one event contract, not a ship you keep. The older Constellation Mk IV line (Andromeda, Aquila, Taurus, Phoenix) got a permanent gold-standard rebuild in the same patch.
Sources: Alpha 4.10.2 patch notes and the September 2026 monthly report. The full flight-ready catalog is the RSI Ship Matrix.
How to read a ship's status
Star Citizen sells and flies hundreds of hulls. The useful split is whether you can spawn the ship today.
| Status | Can you fly it? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Flight ready | Yes, in the live alpha | It is in your hangar or for sale at an in-game ship terminal. Confirm the terminal: some new hulls stay pledge-only for a while. |
| In development | No | Art is moving through gates (whitebox, greybox, LOD0, final). A gate is not a patch date. |
| Concept / pledge | Not the concept itself | You can pay on the pledge store early. Some pages include a loaner you can fly now. The loaner is a different ship. |
Ships you can fly now
These are examples by role in the current alpha, not the whole matrix. Prices and in-game availability move. First-ship packages are compared on starter packs.
| Role | Examples you can fly | Typical first step |
|---|---|---|
| Learn the game | RSI Aurora Mk II, Drake Cutter, Aegis Avenger Titan | A starter pack. Any of these is a complete first ship. |
| Light combat | Aegis Gladius, Anvil Arrow, Kruger S-65 Stingray | Gladius and Arrow are the usual aUEC dogfighters. The Stingray became flyable with Alpha 4.10 (August 26, 2026). Check whether the terminal sells it. |
| Freight | Cutter, Crusader Intrepid, Constellation Taurus, Drake Caterpillar | Start small. The Taurus is the cargo Constellation and now uses the 4.10.2 gold-standard hull. |
| Multi-crew | Drake Cutlass Black, Constellation Andromeda, Anvil Carrack | Cutlass Black is the common step up from a starter. Andromeda is the combat Constellation. |
| Mining | Drake Golem, MISC Prospector, Argo MOLE | Golem is a starter-pack path. Prospector is the usual solo miner after that. |
| Salvage | RSI Salvation, Drake Vulture, Aegis Reclaimer | Salvation is the starter-pack path. Vulture is the common solo salvage ship. |
| Medical / explore | RSI Apollo, Constellation Aquila, Anvil Carrack | Aquila is the exploration Constellation. Carrack is a large multi-crew explorer. |
Ground vehicles and snubs (including the Merlin family and the new Skylark) sit on or inside a parent ship. They are not a substitute for a game package.
What changed in October 2026
- Constellation Mk V Centaurus. New RSI medium freight / gunship, in the verse for RSI Discovery Month. Completing the event's Constellation Rental Offer lends it, and the RSI Skylark, for five days. That rental ends. It is not a permanent hangar ship from this patch.
- Constellation Mk IV gold standard. Andromeda, Aquila, Taurus, and Phoenix were rebuilt: clearer bridge canopy, cargo and crew lifts, turret displays, snub bay, component access, and habitation. NPC Constellations use the updated hull. If you already own one, this is the same pledge with the new model.
- Kruger S-65 Stingray. Already flight ready from Alpha 4.10. Still a newer fighter, not an upcoming concept.
Still in production
Named hulls the monthly reports are actually building. None of these are flyable in 4.10.2. CIG has not assigned them to a patch.
| Ship | Role (pledge / report) | Last published progress |
|---|---|---|
| RSI Galaxy | Modular multi-role (cargo, medical, and refining modules have been part of the concept) | Passed greybox and moved into LOD0. Modules are still in progress with the hull. |
| Anvil Liberator | Light carrier for fighters and ground vehicles. Pledge page still says in development. Cargo listed at 400 SCU. Store price shown at $575. | Greybox work finished. Formal review was planned for early October 2026, with LOD0 work aimed at late October. That is a production target. |
| Drake Kraken | Capital carrier | Continued through LOD0, including large interior systems. No flyable date. |
| Unannounced hulls | Not named in the report | Several vehicles were in whitebox, greybox, or final art at the same time. Do not treat rumors as the ship list. |
IAE in November 2026 is a usual sales event. It is not, by itself, a promise that the Galaxy or Liberator will be flyable there. Read the September report and the next Roadmap Roundup before you pledge a concept for a date.
Buying versus earning
- A referral code such as STAR-HBP4-QP46 adds 50,000 aUEC. It does not add a ship.
- Your first permanent hull is a game package on the RSI store. Standalone ships do not include game access.
- After you can play, many flight-ready ships are also sold for aUEC at terminals. New releases are often pledge-only at first.
- Concept pledges can sit for years. Melt and buy-back rules are on RSI Support. Store credit alone does not count toward the referrer's $40 rule.
- Squadron 42 uses its own ships inside a single-player campaign. A Star Citizen pledge is not that game.
